RATIMIR MARTINOVIĆ, pianist and the Director of the KotorArt Festival, with his broad intellect, brilliant technique, and original expression, has earned a special place and status among artists of his generation. After studying under Professor Emilija Sposojevič at the music school in Kotor, then under Professors Frederik Stanković and Arbo Valdma in Novi Sad, he came to Kemal Gekić, one of the greatest virtuosos of today, in whom he found a pedagogue for several years, first at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and then at the Florida University in Miami (USA). He graduated in 1999 and received his master’s degree in 2002, conducting and playing the works of Mozart and Haydn, with a recital featuring Bach’s compositions. Ratimir Martinović is engaged in pedagogical work at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad as Full Professor, as well as frequently in master classes. He has performed in over 700 concerts with over 60 orchestras in Europe, Asia, South, and North America, in halls such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Parco della Musica (Rome), Rudolfinum and the Dvorak Hall (Prague), Oriental Art Center (Shanghai), the Glenn Gould Hall (Toronto), the Lisinski Hall (Zagreb), Art Center (Seoul), and the International House of Music (Moscow). He has released two compact discs. Since 2016, Martinović has been dedicated to the oeuvre of Vasilije Mokranjac (1923-1984), whose complete piano opus he premiered at an almost three-hour recital in Belgrade (2016). Together with the Mokranjac family, he founded the Vasilije Mokranjac Foundation and serves as its president.
