Klapa CONTRA (Split, Croatia)
After Edi Šegota, Jozo Deleš, Duško Britvić, and Mislav Biočina left the famous klapa Cambi (Kaštel Kambelovac) and Miro Trgo departed from the klapa Campanel, they decided to join forces and the new klapa Contra was created in 2015. In the klapa world, it was interesting to see this new group of experienced singers, performers, and multiple-time winners at the Festival of Dalmatian Klapa in Omiš. In a short time, the band managed to find a publishing house to stand behind them, obvious evidence of the group’s serious intentions and something of note in the klapa world. Anticipations soon came into fruition in a series of representative performances in 2016, during which they performed at The Jubilee 50th Festival of the Dalmatian Klapa Omiš 2016, in the final evening winning the 2nd prize of the expert jury and the 3rd prize of the audience. Their music conductor is the esteemed Dr sci. Vladan Vuletin. In recent years, Contra has been a very frequent guest in Boka Kotorska (Kotor Bay). Their latest performance was a concert, organized by the KotorArt festival, on the occasion of the traditional Vowing Day of the Lady of Škrpjela in Perast on May 15, 2019.
