Duo Classico was established in 2013, and since then, Dina Desančić and Safet Drljan have been successfully performing both in the country and abroad. They have appeared in Ankara, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Belgrade, and among their most significant performances is a concert at the Montenegrin National Theater in 2018, where they performed Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and thus became the first artists in Montenegro to play this piece in an arrangement for violin and accordion. They cooperate with the Center for Preservation and Development of the Cultures of National Minorities in Montenegro. A unique, urban arrangement approach to both classical and popular music is why they are recognized among the audience as a refreshing change on the Montenegrin art scene.

Dina Desančić, violin, after primary and secondary music school in Bar and Podgorica, completed her undergraduate and master’s studies at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, under Professor Evgenija Kravceva. She was a member of the Studio Alektik electric string quartet, the Camerata Academica Orchestra from Novi Sad, and the KotorArt Festival Orchestra. Dina Desančić is a member of the Almazian Symphony Orchestra led by the Armenian violinist Khachatur Almazian, with whom she recorded music for Emir Kusturica’s film Cool Water. In 2017, she tried her hand as an author in the cross-over genre and on that occasion, the Stone Symphony was created, the first composition of this type in Montenegro. Since 2012, Dina Desančić has been appointed violin teacher in the Petar II Petrović Njegoš Primary Music School in Bar. Safet Drljan, accordion, after primary and secondary music school in Bar and Podgorica, graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade – its outpost in Kragujevac, under Professor Radomir Tomić. He has participated in master classes held by famous pedagogues such as Yuri Shishkin, Vjacheslav Semyonov, Peter Gerter, Vojin Vasović, and others. When it comes to the repertoire, Safet Drljan nurtures music of baroque, classicism, romanticism, as well as 20th century music, bringing the accordion to a higher artistic level. He is one of the artists who often collaborate with the Center for Preservation and Development of the Cultures of National Minorities in Montenegro. Safet Drljan is an accordion professor at the Petar II Petrović Njegoš Primary Music School in Bar.
