CHINA STAGE

 

When it comes to the renowned Yugoslav film The Bridge (1969), it turns out that there are more and more young Chinese becoming familiar with the theme song Bella Ciao. An international music competition titled “桥CIAO” will hold the Semi- Final and Final Stages in Belgrade, Serbia and Kotor, Montenegro beginning in the middle of July 2023. It is the first time that an international music competition will be jointly organized by Chinese and European organizations and shall continue every year from now on!

 

The logo of the competition has been designed by Wang Congcong (王 聪聪) and Tang Yajuan (唐 娅娟). One part of the image was created by Wang, who fused the Chinese character “桥” [bridge] with the Italian salutation “CIAO”. The other segment, which was authored by Tang, consists of the structure of a world-famous Chinese ancient bridge and vivid note piers.

 

The Competition Class consists of Woodwind (Bassoon & Oboe) and Chamber Music (Dual, Trio, Quartet, Chamber for String and Piano, and Small Band). Nearly a hundred entrants from China and Europe are to take part in the competition, divided into the Professional Division and the Amateur Division.
