During the summer, more than two thousand tourists pass through Perast daily, with only a few staying longer than a couple of hours. The objective is to harness this potential and bring the town closer to visitors, while also leveraging the economic opportunity presented by the current absence of personalized souvenirs. The project proposes addressing this issue by creating a “treasure hunt” game for transient tourists. At the town entrance, tourists will have the opportunity to purchase a small booklet, which will serve as their passport for the adventure. This passport will feature faded images of landmarks that visitors are encouraged to locate within the town, thus completing the booklet and the quest. Each landmark will be accompanied by a plaque displaying historical facts and a relief for stamping the passport. Through this initiative, Perast will acquire curated history, significantly enhancing its appeal, while tourists will depart with stamped passports, serving as authentic mementos of their experience.
The Perast Passport group comprises Kristina Pavlak, Ana Vujičić, and Jovana Georgiev, graphic designers who have united in Perast, having become enthusiasts of the historic town and its charms. Throughout the summer of 2023, in addition to experiencing local cuisine and swimming in the bay’s waters, the trio had the opportunity to become intimately acquainted with Perast, its history, and culture, while also recognizing its untapped potential. Through the project, the trio’s goal is to help ensure that each visitor to Perast discovers all the town has to offer.
