The Snow Queen is a classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, one that generations have been raised with. This epic story was first published all the way back in 1845, and for the Trešnja Theatre it was dramatized by the acclaimed Croatian writer Lada Kaštelan and directed by Paolo Tišljarić. It's a story about everlasting friendship, love, and growing up. The plot follows the extraordinary journey of a courageous little girl named Gerda, who is willing to do anything to find her friend Kay, who has vanished without a trace. Various people and animals help her along the way, and she finally arrives to the North Pole to save her friend – who has been bewitched by the Snow Queen – proving that the power of love and real friendship is the greatest thing a person can have.
