How to Grow Great People promotes the idea that only a strong inner drive, constant work, support from the environment, and being a master of your own fate and dreams can lead to becoming a great human being. Even though it remains the kind of cheerful production for children that presents an embellished and peaceful image of the world while avoiding dark and painful subjects, this show still successfully manages to achieve a sensible balance, avoiding patronizing tones and not imposing any opinions or attitudes. It invites us to resist the prevalent mytho-maniac image of Montenegro and Montenegrinness, using well-meaning irony in order to expose things for what they really are, without any compromises or condescending tones. The significance of this multi-layered show derives from its aim of providing guidance in life, culture, and theater work to children, grown-ups, and theater professionals alike.
