Illyrian warrior from Neum
Project title: Illyrian warrior from Neum, interactive museums storrytelling, summary
The "Illyrian warrior" from Neum wants to tell his story, because "the most powerful people in the world are storytellers." In the 5th century BC, he was powerful and rich, buried with a rich set of jewelry, costumes and ceramic dishes, and naval and defensive military equipment - as status symbol of the warrior aristocracy of that time. A highway crossed his grave in Vranjevo village near Neum, archaeologists of Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Hercegovina Neretva Canton literally saved him from the "jaws" of the excavator.
The sleepy museum in Neum, where the archaeological material of the "Illyrian warrior" is located, seeks to be "smart" and attract more visitors, contributing to the development of cultural tourism in the town of sun and sea. Digital and storytelling technologies make complex historical events less abstract, improve visibility and more understanding cultural heritage in community and beyond.
